A 7.6 SR (Richter Scale) earthquake that hit West Sumatera had caused damages at Service Point Office of Telkomsel/ GraPARI, Telkomsel Telecommunication Center Building (TTC) and some BTS, include stoppages on Telkomsel network in Padang and surroundings. Moments after the earthquake in West Sumatera, as a realization of its empathy, PT. Hariff Daya Tunggal Engineering (Hariff) promptly deployed its personnel to Padang and surroundings area to support Telkomsel in performing revision upon telecommunication infrastructures. The assisting personnel were coming from areas of Pekanbaru, Medan, Palembang dan Padang area itself plus a special team which were directly coming from Hariff headquarter in Bandung, embarked by Hercules Aircraft, which was supported by Indonesian Air Force. One of the major causes upon incidents of telecommunication stoppages in Padang and surroundings was the brown-out of the power. One of supports carried out by Hariff was shipment of equipments to Telkomsel sites in Padang and surroundings, which were directly sent out from the warehouse at the Hariff headquarter in Bandung and from the warehouse of Hariff area representative in Pekanbaru and Palembang. In addition, Hariff field personnel accompanied Telkomsel personnel in conducting on-the-spot survey upon conditions of BTS which were potentially getting damaged and then performing prompt repair on Hariff Power System’s equipments. The aftermath management of earthquake had been intensively carried on by Telkomsel, assisted by Hariff, towards telecommunications infrastructure; such as power supply equipments, Mobile Switching Center (MSC), Base Station Center (BSC), Base Transceiver Station (BTS), and transmission link. To ensure the recovery process upon Telkomsel network until the condition is completely normal at 100%, Hariff had provided support to Telkomsel by assigning its personnel to standby at the Padang area and surroundings. We are grateful that all efforts we have done promptly and gradually assisted recovery of Telkomsel network successfully within the inner and outer regions of Padang such as in Bukittinggi, Solok, Payakumbuh, Pasaman, Palangki, Painan and even Pariaman, which actually was the closest area to center of quake epicentrum, the President Director of PT.
